Help Applying for Insurance


Walk-ins are ok, but that does not guarantee an appointment at that time or day, call ahead or scheduling an appointment is preferred. Email dcarpenter@christhealthcenter.org to schedule an appointment or ask additional questions.

Assistance with insurance enrollment is a 100% FREE service.

  1. Proof of identification:
    1. Acceptable forms of ID include government issued ID or state voter ID.
    2. Only one form is needed.
  2. Proof of income:
    1. Documentation must show hourly, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or annual income.
    2. Tax forms are accepted.

You can expect a friendly, certified, insurance enrollment specialist to help you apply for the Alabama Medicaid program, and the Health Insurance Marketplace, also known as ObamaCare.

The application process can typically take up to 30-45 minutes.

Approval or denial for either program is granted by Alabama Medicaid and the Health Insurance Marketplace, and not by the Certified Application Counselor.
